The History of our Congregation

1985

Cannon Baptist Church was established in 1985 when a small group of faithful believers came together with a big vision: to share the hope and love of Jesus Christ with the Cannon community and beyond. What began as a modest gathering has grown into a vibrant congregation rooted in the Word of God, committed to making disciples for Jesus Christ.

From its inception, Cannon Baptist Church has been dedicated to fulfilling the Great Commission—reaching out to the lost, discipling believers, and equipping them to live out their faith both locally and globally. As a proud Southern Baptist Church, we stand firmly on the foundation of Scripture, guided by the leadership of Jesus Christ as the head of our church.

We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention, and the Van Alstyne Ministerial Alliance. Additionally, we joyfully affirm the Southern Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as a statement of our core beliefs.
